What is North Korea aiming for?

Amanpour: Why did North Korea launch rocket? – CNN.com.

So was pleasantly catching up on the news that I had missed by being under a rock over the weekend, and came across this… an analysis of the actions of N. Korea and the reactions that any other government has whenever N. Korea is merely mentioned. GASP! They have rockets!!?? You’re kidding me! N. Korea launched one and it made it over the fence and they’re freakin’ excited and we are, let me guess, horrified. Didn’t we get the memo? That’s probably what Kim Jong Il is saying! ‘didn’t they get the freakin’ memo?’  The world was informed of the intention to launch their little doohickey into orbit, hell, they even took into consideration that it probably wouldn’t make it and called Japan to let them know to Watch For Falling Korean Shit, ya know, just in case.

N. Korea is calling the launch of the swizzle stick of a missle, a success, and here the big question is why?! Give me break, its a success because a) they conformed to the idea of informing the world they were planning this whole deal; and it was likely surprising to them that we weren’t waving our arms in panic and running in circles. B) it made it off the ground, and anyone who has ever strapped a G.I. Joe figuringe to a rocket as a child knows that if it makes it into the air and you don’t lose any fingers or facial hair in the process, its a god damn success! which depending on how many failures to launch you have under your belt previously “a success” could be a mere 2 or 3 inches off the ground without  major injury or interference from the parents!  I see where the N. Koreans are coming from!

I think its damn important and certainly an initiative that I support, for Obama to be re thinking the Nuclear Disarmament process in a manner that puts the U.S. at the front, makes us lead by example. I mean, c’mon, no one wants to be told they can’t have the big toys by someone they don’t trust as not having them as well! This, I think, will be the foundation for new, and good realtions with countries like N. Korea, who kinda’ don’t want us in their business… and likewise we just wanna assure that they’re not planning on blowin’ up ours… understandable. But the manner in which this recent even of the rocket launch occured certainly shows some consideration by N. Korea, and it shows that maybe they don’t want to feel like they’re the enemy any longer. Even crazy people can negotiate, I think I am living proof of that! If I can do it, I am sure that a new era of diplomacy, as seems Obama is considering, would be just such a way of negotiating with countries and governements we have for a long while deemed, non-negotiable!

By the way… this Six Party talk and the obligation of the United States to provide N. Korea with 1 million metric tons of fuel oil to offset its energy shortages after they torched their nuclear reactor … how’s that goin’? Just a random suggestion, but our economy, all these financial bail out’s and some such nonsense… let’s say, hypathetically speaking, that money was being invested into companies, like Natural Gas, and holy shit son, Solar power and, ya know, useless crap like that… and then those people were included in the wheeling and dealign of the Six Party talks, in effect of… maybe, “No nukes N.Korea, instead we give you the opportunity to turn your missle building team (who make a good effort, but the G.I. Joe is somewhere in the pacific) into energy providers! Shit, we might even have you and your little guys over for a show and tell, and teach you how to assemble this cool ass shit and make it work for ya! Or, if that is a little too far, we could ship them the equivalent of 1 mil. metric tons of fuel but instead it would be solar panels or energy company executives ( or the ceo’s of the companies that totally fucked off our economy, but for no other reason that we don’t want to keep paying their salary; let Kim Jong Il strap the bastards to the next round of attempts at a satellite launch. It would be fun.)
